Oil based paint is more durable and takes longer to dry than water based paint. Like with primer let your first coat of paint dry completely before moving on. The time it takes for your cabinets to dry and cure can be effected by humidity. If you re using oil based paint on indoor trim doors and cabinets the recoat time differs from water based paint. Oil based paint may feel dry two to four hours after it s applied.

Using a premium benjamin moore nylon polyester brush apply the first coat of advance paint. Latex paint dry to the touch in about 1 hour and you can safely recoat in 4 hours. Recoat time for oil based paint. For latex drying time is relatively short compared to that of oil based paints.
